This post is for threading with Yamanaka Ino anytime and anywhere. It can be used for Action or the Ring feature on journals (voice or written) to get in contact with her for personal conversations. This will be used primarily for 'placement' threads such as: someone left a present or 'by the way, come to this party on such-and-such' or the like.

[When Ino takes a seat, he slides down next to her, keeping close. Staying silent. It's her turn to vent, and as the words pour out of her, Riku feels his heart wrench inside his chest.

He was in a similar position once. His friends came from so far ahead of him at first. They, too, revealed some dark truths... But nothing as severe as losing a parent. It's something Riku can't even begin to imagine.

No wonder her voice trembled as she explained it all. It's such a heavy-handed future. And to learn of it without experiencing it first hand... is it even any better?

Riku's still not sure what to say, so he'll do what he can and pull her close. He wraps his arms around her, rests his chin on top of her head.]

I'm so sorry, Ino... It's never easy to hear that all second-hand.

[It's the one thing he can understand.]

But... if you need to cry, it's okay. Sometimes you just have to let it out.

[His words just managed to let the dam she's been trying to hold still loose. The surge seemed incessant as more tears cascade down her already tear-stained cheeks. Shifting herself unconsciously, Ino buries her face on Riku's chest, clutching onto him tightly like a little girl to the hem of her mother's shirt. It always feels easier when you have something/someone solid you're holding onto.

It's never easy and she wishes she can go back to their world upon knowing that her father's going to die, it'd still be pointless because she won't remember the warning in the first place. It frustrates her just as much as it saddens her. She had been a believer that nothing is set on stone but when both of her teammates lived through that dreaded future, she has no choice but to believe otherwise.

Especially when she herself saw that future.]

I actually... saw it. [She begins with a weak voice, a little muffled by the shirt she's buried her face into.] Shikamaru felt it's best to read his mind so I can see it for myself. It felt so real, like I was really there.

[Another sob and a light hiss, her frustration showing past.] But I wasn't. Won't be and it angers me. [Which will be emphasized by her hands turning into fists. Sorry Riku, she'll be clutching tightly on your shirt now.]

[He doesn't mind. In fact, when she clutches his shirt, he'll place a hand on the small of her back, rubbing gently. He doesn't expect this to ease her pain, of course not. When hit with a bombshell that huge, it takes time to heal. He's willing to give her that time.

But seeing it... He winces, casting a glance to the side. Hearing the future is one thing, but to experience it while being helpless... unable to change one's fate. Of course she'd be angry. How could she not?]

It's okay to be angry. I would be too... Probably infuriated. It's how I felt when I learned my future.

[Sigh.]

But that didn't even compare to this. I just wish I could help you...

[Still looking up and still lost in her sea of emotions, Ino continues to speak softly, though this time, her voice is bereft of that previous anger.]

But you are... [It's a weak protest, a weak admission as she continues to cry.] You're helping me by being here.

[Because inasmuch as she wants to be alone, sometimes, having a person close to you hold you is a form of comfort that cannot be replaced.]

And I'm not going anywhere, either. I'll stick here as long as you need.

[Even having one person can make a huge difference. Nobody should have to face these circumstances alone. And besides, Ino's too precious for him to just ignore.]

[Finally, Ino gazes up and despite the anguish all too evident on her face, she pulls out a solid smile for him. Because she's going to be fine and this too shall pass. She'll just need some time.]

No need to thank me. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I ditched you at a time like this?

[Heck, what kind of friend, even? Regardless of the type of bond, it's important to stick around for the people you care about. Especially at times like these.]

A jerk?

[She gives this face, but her voice is too hoarse for her to giggle. That, and Ino's sure her giggle will sound foreign even to her ears.]

Exactly. And I've got no intention to be one of those again.

[It's a bit of dry humor on his part, given his stupid mistakes in his past.]

[Riku will receive a small smile as affirmation to what he said before Ino rests her cheek against his chest. There's a bit of a pause on her end as if she's gathering her thoughts before she speaks up.]

Is it alright if you... sleep beside me later? [She doesn't trust being able to sleep after all this. At least, not tonight.]

It's more than all right, Ino. If that's what it takes to cheer you up, then I'll stick to you like glue.

[It's a bit of an exaggeration, since... well, he doubts she'll want him to stick with her 24/7, but hopefully it'll get the point across.]

[Oh, it did get the point across that it helped ease Ino. She would have giggled at that come back if she can, but as it is, she just remained quiet, basking on the sensation of having him hold her. It takes some time before thoughts drift somewhere else, somewhere beyond this world.]

Dad told me he was proud of me... [She opens up, but her voice is meek and soft.]

[When he hears her words, a weak smile crawls across his face, and he gives her a light squeeze.]

As he should be. You're a great person, Ino, not to mention strong. And I'm not just talking physically here.
